Happy 8 Months

Lyla Faith Morris we love you more and more everyday!!!

What have you been up to this past month:
Weight - about 18lbs
Size 6-9 months and a lot of 12 month clothes (you little chunk)
Size 3 diaper

You are sleeping almost every other night through the night from about 7-6

You take your bottles really well at daycare and you nurse before bed and during the weekends.

You haven't wanted many solids since you were sick but you usually eat Yogurt or cereal for breakfast, a yogurt fruit/veggie mix for lunch and a fruit and veggie for dinner.

You weren't a big fan of the juice I gave you, you would rather have water...guess you get that from your Gigi :)

You still love your jumper but you don't stay in there as long as you used to.

You also will sit in your bumbo if we pile your toys around you to play with.

Still NO crawling but I know that she will get there eventually. You roll all over the place to get things you want and get up on her hands and then knees, just can't get them going together yet.

You have turned into a MOMMA's girl over the past few weeks after being so sick, it makes me happy and sad at the same time because your daddy wants to bad to love on you at times and you are not having it.

You can say Dada, Mama, Papa and Hey..we still swear you say dog sometimes and you will try and wave bye bye and you will mouth it like a whisper when we are leaving somewhere and I say it first. You always say it loud AFTER I hang up the phone with your Gigi after we have tried forever to get you to talk with her.

They call you Nosey Rosie at daycare because they said you ALWAYS have to know what is going on...whether it is what the bigger kiddos are doing or who is coming in and out of the door.

You are a camera hog..when I show you pictures or videos of yourself you think you are HILARIOUS..it makes me laugh but your daddy always sings the song "you're so vain..ha"

You still love Zeus and just laugh and laugh at him and you really don't know what to think about Mason since he hasn't been around in awhile.

You still love your Baby Einstein videos and will stop whatever you are doing if someone starts singing on the TV.
We think you are cutting some more teeth which is why you are being so fussy here lately (at least we hope that is what it is)

We are finally getting your little eye fixed in two weeks (I am nervous and happy at the same time)

I love getting home or picking you up in the afternoons from daycare and seeing how excited you get when you see me..makes my heart melt!!

You light up our world each day and we thank God that he has blessed us with you. Your daddy and I love you to the moon and back!!!

Weeks 3-5

I am so far behind on blogging..Between getting back into the routine of work (getting up early and getting two of us out of the house by 6:30, back on a schedule, craziness at work...an entire other problem within itself, open house, lesson plans, and the list goes on and on) I at times don't know which way is up or down. With that Lyla was fighting off yet another ear infection from starting daycare and we finally have that under control now we are just waiting to see the eye doctor next week about her clogged tear duct. It is getting better each week with balancing work and home but it is still a constant battle of where are my twelve sticky notes with my to do lists on them. :) So I am catching up today with our days of the week with all of her super cute outfits and even better facial expressions in each photo. I make sure we have that one minute in the mornings so I can snap a picture of her so that I can remember what each of these days were like because she is growing so fast and I know my days of keeping her still are numbered..ha!!

I am so glad that I decided to do this...not for the fact that this kiddo has way to many clothes just for the fact that these memories will be with us forever! She is such a blessing to our lives and we love her more and more each day. Her personality grows each day and as much as I don't want her to grow up on me I can't wait to see what amazing things she will accomplish as she gets older.

Happy 7 Months!!!

Happy 7 months Lyla Faith...I can't believe you are already 7 months old..time is flying by!

You are a girl of many faces so it is very hard for me to pick just one pose so we do several :)

What you have been up to....

You weigh right about 18 pounds
You are wearing size 3 diapers
You are wearing some 6-9 months clothes but others I am having to get you 12 months

You are SUCH a happy and good baby!

You started back to daycare and these past few weeks have been rough because you immediately got sick again...I am praying the stronger antibiotic you got on Thursday will help knock the rest of the crud out.

You still seem to love daycare..you are always SO happy when we walk in the door to get you, it melts my heart the smile you get on your face.

Ms. Adelina worked it out so that you could stay in the baby room a little longer until you got good at sitting up and crawling.

You have slept through the night the last three nights and it has been WONDERFUL..I hope you keep it up for mom :)

You are a wild sleeper (I think you get that from me..oh no) I look at the monitor one minute and the next you sometimes are on the complete opposite end..LoL

You are eating three solid meals a day: yogurt for breakfast and for lunch & dinner a fruit and veggie. You still take water from your sippy cup really good but I have tried putting your milk in there a few times and you drink it with no problem at all. (so thinking you may be easy to break from the bottle..we hope)

You love to throw your sippy cup down on the floor and have us pick it up..you think it is the funniest thing.

You absolutely LOVE Zeus..you love chasing him around the house or when he runs in front of you, it is the funniest thing. He was scared of you at first but is now getting a little more brave. I looked over the other day and you are about to "give him a kiss" on his nose and I had to move him away.

You love giving us kisses..it is so cute! We will say give us a kiss and you will open your mouth as wide as you can and give us the wettest kiss on our cheeks..it is so sweet!!
You have also started to try and wave bye-bye when we leave in the mornings to daddy.

I can put a pony tail in the top of your hair now..it is so cute.

You still love your bouncer and sitting in your bumbo watching sprout or baby einstein.
You love laying in the floor and turning in circles..you will scoot backwards if we put you on the tile floor but on your blanket and rub you will just turn in circles. You are getting up on your knees but will then drop and raise up really high on your arms...I know you will get the hang of it very soon and then we will be chasing you around the house!

You have from day one been full of personality and we see that growing every day. You love watching what people are doing...we sometimes call you the creeper baby because you just stare at everyone and anyone.

You are such a good girl when we go out in public..you just lay there and take in the scenery.

Your daddy and I love you to the moon and back!!!

~Week 2~

Day one

Well week two of daycare down..and my fear of course happened with in three days she had a runny nose and was all congested. I have to keep telling myself she is building her immune system so in the next few years she will be immune to all, I pray that at least. I tried over the counter meds the doctor recommended but it just wasn't cutting it. We ended up going to the doctor Friday afternoon and sure enough she had another ear infection. She wasn't able to get her 7 month shots so we have to go back for ear check and those in three weeks. We are also waiting on our eye appointment at the end of September also to hopefully get her tear duct cleared up.
Day two

Day Three

We also got a letter in our bag on Friday that she officially has been moved up to the next classroom..UGH! I was so dreading that because I LOVED her infant room teacher but she will be 7 months this week (YIKES) and I know that she needs to be around the little ones that are crawling and attempting to walk because "monkey see, monkey do" and I don't want her falling behind.

Day Four

This girl is FULL of personality! Jason and I just sit here daily and laugh at all of the funny things she does!

Day Five

We just had a relaxing weekend at home! I am so glad for my weekends to spend loving and cuddling with my girl. We love her so much and she brings so much joy to our lives we truly don't know what we would do without her now!!!

Back to daycare and thankful!!!

Day 1

When we found out we were pregnant with Lyla I knew more than anything I would love to stay at home with her and not have to worry with daycare. I first knew this was not an option for us and secondly I truly didn't think it would be something I would want to do. I then also looked at the fact that I do have the perfect job for having children. I work roughly 200 days out of the year..have 1 week for Thanksgiving, 2 weeks for Christmas, Spring Break, major holidays and even better 2 plus months for summer break, you really can't beat that!!! I also LOVE what I do and feel that Lyla needed that interaction with children growing up to develop her social skills and we are pretty sure she is going to be an only child so she needed those children to interact with as well :)
Day 2

I prayed extra hard about finding a place for Lyla to go while we were working and knew that God would take care of us in this area. I for a moment considered the having someone come into our house but I weighed our positive and negatives against that and just again prayed about what we needed to do. I can't tell you how blessed we are to have found Grace Kidz World for Lyla. When we went to tour the place I walked in and just felt this sense of belonging and security. It is a well established daycare that has been operating for many years and is placed inside a local church. I knew that God had a plan for us there and even more I knew he would watch over her because she was in "His" house :)

Day 3

When Lyla went at 12 weeks when I started back to work I can honestly say I didn't even have a break down. Every time I have dropped her off I have had a sense of peace overcome me and I just know that she is taken care of. If I ever want to check on her all I have to do is call and all of the ladies are so sweet and just all love on her right when we get there and are usually holding her when we pick her up.

Day 4

I actually was getting worried about her going back this time just for the fact that she had become very clingy and only wanted momma when we were outside of the house around people and a lot times at home also. (Which poor Jason tries to help me but sometimes she just isn't having her daddy and needs me) I tried taking her places to make sure she still got that interaction but she would either cry when people held her or had to make sure she could see me if she would let them hold her. So we went by the daycare the week before she started to drop off a few things and pay (not my favorite part, but like they say I will not put a price on someone who is taking care of my child, I would pay whatever as long as they are the best). She got so excited when we saw Ms. Adelina and let her hold her and there again I knew all would be fine.
Day 5

We made it an entire week and she only fussed just a little the first day they said and has been fine ever sense. She does already have a stuffy nose but not sure if it's teeth or from daycare..either way I know it's building her immune system for the many years of school to come! They said she LOVES watching all of the other kids crawl around and come by her. They say she sits there and laughs and laughs at them. They are working with her on sitting up better and her crawling also. I know she is in the best place possible and again am blessed and thankful that they love and take such good care of her.

1/2 A Year Old!!

Lyla Faith Morris..I can't believe you are already 6 months old!!!!
You have made our little family complete and we can't imagine life without you. What you are up to these days...

As you can see from all of these pictures you are a girl of MANY faces. You have SUCH a big personality and you let it shine at home..when we go out in public here lately you are VERY serious though. Also VERY clingy to me...you won't let anyone hold you (you get the saddest face with your bottom lip stuck out and huge alligator tears) except me and if you do let them hold you then they must have you facing me. At home though you are such a character.

  • You are wearing size 2 diapers..I just bought you size three though because the 2's are getting kind of tight around that 17lb belly of yours.
  • You are wearing 6-9 months clothes

  • You LOVE to eat...I knew I couldn't keep up with you eating every 2 hours once I went back to work because you were acting like you were starving so you are now eating solids three times a day. Breakfast : Yogurt, Lunch : Fruit, Dinner: Fruit/Veggie and then you nurse or have a bottle at 6:30;9:30,12:303:30;6:30
  • You are still waking up at least once during the middle of the night to nurse also
  • We moved you to your big girl bed last week and you have done pretty good in there so far. I think it is harder on me walking across the house in the middle of the night to nurse you but I know you have more room in there and sleep much better.
  • You are NOT the napper. You will take 4 -30 minute naps through out the day. I am hoping once daycare starts they can get you on a better morning/afternoon nap schedule.
  • You go to bed at 7:00 every night and usually wake up around 6:00 in the morning

  • You LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your exersaucer..you have been able to bounce in it for a long time but now you bounce so high and you can turn yourself around intentionally to get to toys that are behind you.
  • It is so funny when we pick you up and turn you away from the TV you look like an owl turning your head back around to find it again..LoL (you are your father's kid, TV junkie :)
  • The baby einstein videos could entertain you all day if I let them..you love the water ones and just laugh at the little puppets on there.
  • You for some reason in the last few weeks have started sucking your thumb...I wish you would do that in the middle of the night instead of having to get mad searching for your wubba paci..ha!
  • You have started turning sideways on your changing table, which makes it difficult to put your diaper back on.
  • If anything is behind you or on top of the changing table you grab it or knock it on the floor.
  • You can't stand it when your daddy or I walk by and don't pick you up..you will start grunting at us and then get really mad if we don't get there quick enough.

  • You love laying on your blanket with all of your toys we set out for you...you usually pick a few of your favorites to go for right when we lay you down. I usually lay you down on your back and turn around a few seconds later and you are on your belly.
  • You are not crawling yet but you are so ready to...you look like you are swimming kicking your hands and feet!
(I am DONE with this bow and these pictures)
  • You love sitting in your bumbo playing with your new block toy and piano
  • You get so excited when we take a stroll to the mail box somedays but it is so hot out there we can only stay for a few minutes.
  • Zeus is your buddy..you get so happy when he walks past you or walks past you. He is not sure what to think about it so he keeps his distance. He will probably be running from you once you get mobile :)
That is my bow Zeus :)
I will be bigger than you one day...
She already has her daddy wrapped around her little finger...
I don't think I want you to touch me..ha!
You talk ALL the time..you say "dada" we swear you said dog the other day (ha) you grunt and growl (when going to the bathroom..lol) you say mmmm.... when you are eating or drinking (you like to eat)
You love playing with your sippy cup..you make a bigger mess than you do drinking your water

Think you are going to be a water baby..when you hear water running you immediately get excited thinking it is bath time. I bought you a little pool but we haven't had time or the weather has been so hot we haven't used it yet.
You love sitting in your new big girl high chair
This is the face of a DIVA!!
I have to go back to work in a few weeks and I am very worried about Lyla going back to daycare since she has been so clingy to me. I am PRAYING that she goes back with ease and all works out.
Your daddy and I love you to the moon and back!!! We are so thankful that you are a happy, healthy girl!!
