William's Elementary

This has been a very exciting week for my kiddos at school. Friday we took them on a field trip to the Pasadena Fair grounds to watch a show on Native Americans. They had lots of wild animals such as bison, lambs, zebra, eagles, and other types of birds. The most exciting part was the Indians, Cowboys and African shows that they put on for us. The Native Americans showed us their how they lived and different dances and the meaning behind them. The African Americans did many interesting dances as well along with showing us their different instruments. My favorite part was probably the cowboy that did rope trips with his horse. All of the kiddos sat there well behaved and listened to every minute of their presentation, which was very unusual for them :) It was a very busy and tiring day but I am very glad my kiddos got to experience this.

Today was our 4th annual Turkey Trot. Each grade level has their own race boy/girl and the winner gets a good ol turkey for Thanksgiving. There is even a parent race Also if you race you are put in a drawing to win one of the 6 bikes we give away. I was in charge of picking the winneMy student JJ won the boys race for 5th grade. I was very excited for him.

Grades are due Monday morning for progress reports so the rest of my weekend will be filled with grading papers and entering them. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

1st picture is one of the guys dressed in his Native American gear, 2nd is the African dancers playing and singing, 3rd and 4th are their homes, and the last is kind of hard to see but that little girl was only like 2 and she was dancing just as good as the adults..super cute :)
