11 months/Christmas/Tubes

This is one big blog of almost all of December..ha! I still haven't gotten the hang of it (plus Jason is now using my computer and I can't blog from my Ipad as easy as I can from this...so hopefully we will get him his own soon)
11 Months

Well Lyla Faith I am a little behind on your 11 month picture and update but we finally got it done today...What you have been up to;

~You weight about 22 pounds and are about 21 1/2 inches long..I think you are a little petite thing when I see other babies but you are a really good eater so I don't worry.

~Size 3 diapers

~Yay!! You finally are sleeping through the night (we got off a little during the break but it only took one night and you were back on) You still fight going to sleep but once you wear yourself out you finally give it up and pass out. You always used to sleep on your tummy but here lately not only are you sleeping on your back, side, looks like your head some nights because you are from one side of your crib to the other...I hear you are a wild sleeper like I was "am" so I guess you inherited that from me...ha! "Don't worry I won't let your friends make you sleep on the floor..Lindsey and Amanda..Love ya'll :)

~You are a rolling machine...you still will not crawl. You will get up on all fours like you are going to get what you are looking at but then you will flop down to your belly and maneuver yourself in every direction by rolling to get there. It is hilarious to watch you. I still am worried that you aren't on track but I know that all babies are different and I don't see any developmental delays and neither has the pediatrician so I just pray that you are a non interested lazy little girl who will pick it up soon :)

~You are a BIG eater...you still nurse when you wake up and before you go to bed but other than that you are nursing and bottle free. You eat a big breakfast, lunch and dinner and you eat two good snacks also. You love some chicken, fish and pasta. I love how you pick the way you eat your food..it's usually the cheese, fruit, meat, and then some of the veggies..ha!

~You think Zeus is the most hilarious thing ever

~You LOVE some Elmo or actually TV in general..something can catch your eye on the tv and you will just stare forever

~Speaking of staring you can for sure give some looks also.

~You still love your bouncy but do really good playing on the floor with all of your toys.

~Bath time is probably your second best thing besides dinner time.

~You still love going to daycare, which makes this momma very happy!

~You have gotten a lot closer to your daddy here lately and I think that makes him very happy as well.

~You love to mock everything that we do...you love for us to cough and you do it right back to us (sometimes not in the most appropriate places. like in church the other morning when you were mad at Kavin because he wouldn't play the coughing came with you during Bro. Ken's sermon..lol)

~You can say bye-bye, mama, dada, hey, hi, we swear you are saying other things when you want like duck, baaaa (sheep sound) Gigi, and I know there are some others

~You still only have 6 teeth those two on top just refuse to come in

You really are our little entertainer we get so tickled at some of the things you "say" and do. We love you to the moon and back and can't believe you are 11 months old...It can't be!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS

I think my expectations of Christmas were a little lacking this year. I guess because I always imagined baking cookies, setting up for Santa and such but I know that Lyla is not old enough to do those things or understand so I already have things in mind of traditions and things that I want to start next year when it will mean more to her and us.

Lyla and Gigi being silly.

Give me that present

My rockn raffi the giraffe..not real sure about this.

We didn't get into town until Thursday night after Lyla's ear procedure. I now think we should have just waited but didn't want us traveling the day after and her have a long day with eating and opening presents at grannys house. With the procedure and getting off of her schedule and being away from home was a rough week with trying to get her sleep. It didn't help that she got a stuffy nose while we were there so she couldn't breath and that was hurting her sleep as well. We just went to NB for Christmas and weren't able to travel to AR but hopefully we will be able to soon. We opened presents Saturday night and Lyla had a great time seeing all of the goodies she received. We got up Sunday morning and went to church and just hung out around the house the rest of the week. I was sad to leave but very glad to get home and get Lyla back on track with her sleep because I was one worn out momma.

 Tubes

My poor baby had to get tubes in her ear last Thursday morning. It was a tough day waiting to get finished with the procedure but she got through it like a champ and everything went well. I am glad it is over and realized how very thankful that we are as we saw all of the other moms and dads in there with all of their babies who had way bigger problems than we could ever imagine.  I now hope this will eliminate all of the fluid that kept building up in her ears that was causing all of the problems. We go back in 6 weeks for a check up to see how they are doing. We will get them out in about a year if they haven't fallen out before then.

Merry Christmas

Masters Graduation & Lyla updates

Well the day finally came....I officially finished my masters degree in August but wasn't able to walk until today. I am glad that I did it and am SO thankful that Jason was able to come and that mom and granny drove all the way there and turned around and had to drive all the way back home today. It meant so much to have them there and I am so very thankful to have the wonderful family that I do. They have always believed in me and have supported me through anything that I wanted to do. My sweet husband got home at like 2:00 this morning from work and got up and made the trip with us also, and of course my little pride and joy Lyla faith was perfect during the entire ceremony.

The graduation ceremony went pretty quickly once it started which was good because I was starving and my child had not had a nap so I was afraid of how she was acting up in the stands. When it was over we went and ate at what we think is Lyla's favorite restaurant by the way she eats every time we are there, Carinos. I am sitting here waiting on the phone call from mom to let me know that she made it  home okay.

My sweet angel!

4 Generations!! These two women are what I hope and pray to be like as a mom..they are my inspiration and I love them like crazy!

Lyla Updates...
I hate doing New Year's resolutions because I feel so pressured to do them I don't...ha! I am making it my goal to stay more up to date on what is happening in our lives as little Lyla is growing because I have not done well here lately because I am just been overwhelmed with work and with Jason gone a lot here lately practically being a single mom. I wish I could just translate my daily posts to facebook on here and that would help a lot..lol! I am quick to put something on there to remember but wish I would do the same here.

Well our goal for the next two and a half weeks while I am off of work is to work on getting Lyla to start crawling, I am probably totally going to regret this when she does, but I am just tired of getting those stares of WHAT?!?! when people as how old she is and then say is she crawling or walking all over the place and my reply is NO :(
I know there is nothing wrong with her because she can stand in her bouncy, hold on to Jason's arm and stand up from the side of his chair, get up on all fours and rock back and forth, and this kid will be from one end of the house to the other, by ROLLING, if you take your eye off of her for a second. She can roll, scoot and get anywhere that allows her to go from left to right or backwards but the problem lies when the only direction she can go is forward and she gets stuck and starts screaming..good grief :)

She has been waving and saying bye-bye for awhile now, it is more consistent now as before she would only do it when we were saying by to her daddy. Here in the past few days she has started to blow kisses bye-bye. She did it at daycare on Friday and did it several times to mom and granny today and along to a few strangers I heard also :)
She is FULL of personality...we just sit here and laugh at the some of the looks she gives or how well she can ignore you when she knows you are talking to her.
If she is upset or anytime actually this kid LOVES music. She has recently started singing to the music, super loud. It is so cute and it melts my heart.

I think that is all for now..Only a few short days until I have to do her 11 month update..OMG! It can't be :( My little girl will be one before I know it!!!

10 months

My how time flies Lyla Faith

I can't believe you are 10 months old. (Well yesterday, but we were traveling so we are a day behind)

You are wearing size three diapers and wear 12-18 months clothes

You also weigh about 20lbs

You love to eat :) You go through phases but overall you are a really good eater. You eat a lot of table foods because you love to feed yourself. You still are eating some pureed food that I make. You love some grilled chicken, cheese and mandarin oranges. I think you would eat that every meal of you could. We need to venture out and try some other things we just have been so busy that was just easy to do. You still nurse when you wake up, bedtime, and if you are at daycare a bottle at 9 & 1 and nurse at those times also if we are home. I attempted to start weaning you when we were on break but that didn't go over so well with your routine being all messed up so we will try and start again this week.

You are still not crawling but will roll from one side of the house to the other if we would let you. You do get up on all fours but if we see you rocking back and forth you drop to your belly and start kicking your feet :) We know you will pick it up sooner or later. I am afraid you are going to over night hit the floor running and your dadd and I are going to be in some kind of trouble.

We went out of town for Thanksgiving this past week and you didn't do very well. You have been very clingy to me here lately so that did not help with everyone wanting to hold you. You also have never slept in your pack n play and that didn't go as planned either. I don't know if you just didn't have enough room in there or if you knew you were in the same room as us and could scream until we picked you up. We had a really good time visiting with family I just wish you would have had a better trip, but I know it's hard on you being out of your element and going through changes but we are going back for Christmas in a few weeks and I hope it is a better trip.

You still love the dogs and watching them run around and play.

You are still doing really great at daycare. They have a even started a full curriculum in your 6-12 month class and they say that you are loving it. They send a folder home every Friday with all of the fun arts and crafts you have done. It is so cute and I am going to be one of those mom's that keeps everything so we are going to have to create a storage box for them.

You are SUCH a happy and lovable baby. You still love to give your daddy a hard time and will not have anything to do with him most of the time but I have to keep telling him that you are a momma's girl now but it won't be long when you will be all about him.

You love to take baths but we realized it's also how much you love your bath ducky. We were still getting things but up when we got home and we put you in here with some toys and you played for ever. You looked so cute reading your book in there :)

You still love being your in your bouncy

Elmo is your favorite thing to watch on TV (yes, you still are a TV junky)

We got you a new car seat and you are loving having all of the room to move around.

You squeal SO loud sometimes that we just get so tickled at your. You love to play patty-cake, wave and say bye-bye and make noises when I or you pat your hand over your mouth. I am afraid you are going to be one loud and rowdy girl. You have started squirming all over the place when you are in our laps and think you need to get a hold of everything (and put it in your mouth, of course)

You are our entire world and we love you to the moon and back!!!

Busy...

Ugh..I hate when I don't blog for so long but with working full time and basically a single mom Monday-Friday, these days I just don't have time for anything. We have had lots of exiting things going on just not enough time to sit down and write about them.

Daycare -
They started a curriculum with Lyla's age group of babies. I thought it was kind of silly at first because I knew she would have no idea what the number 4 or the letter G and all of the other activities that were on the lesson plan calendar they gave me a few weeks ago BUT I have to say even though she doesn't it seems wonderful. Her teacher Ms. Nadia seems to think that Lyla loves it when they have class. There are four kiddos in her class and I think they set a time to sit down with each of them individually to do the lesson. She is not only learning about all of these things they also teach them the lesson using sign language and the terms in Spanish. Along with that she gets to paste things on paper and they said her favorite is finger painting. She came home with a folder FULL of things she had done the previous week and it just made my heart melt.

Along with lessons she just all of a sudden came home from daycare the other day and I sat her on the floor to see her doing this....

I couldn't believe my eyes I grabbed my camera as fast as I could and snapped this picture. She still doesn't have the whole crawling thing down yet but I know any day now she will put it all together. I am sure by the time we go see Gigi in a few days she will be showing off her skills.

She has also FINALLY learned to clap..it was driving me crazy because she loved it when I would clap her hands together but she would never do it on her own. Again one day we were sitting in the floor playing and her music was playing and she just started clapping :)

Teeth:
Oh goodness this mouth full of teeth is really getting the best of us. She really hasn't been that bad with getting them in, but she has gotten so many at one time I think it is really starting to take a toll on her. She still only has the two on the bottom but we have number's 5 and 6 coming in on the top. We also started really brushing her teeth this past week and this kid started to show out. I usually brush them for her and then she likes to chew on the toothbrush. Well I guess with those new teeth coming in it feels good on her gums so we got a really good video of me trying to tell her we were done and taking the brush away. She threw the biggest temper tantrum...I hope it was just because she was tired and hurting because she didn't do it tonight but I kind of tricked her and gave her another toy to make her drop the brush..LoL

We have also been consumed planning and getting everything together for Birthday #1 it will be here before we know it so we want to make sure we have it all together!!

That is about it for the past week. I am so ready for this week to be over and we get a nice relaxing 7 day break. Well not too relaxing because a lot of it will be traveling but it will still be nice to get out of Houston and enjoy some country living for awhile.

Zoo, Halloween and 9 Month Check up

We just hung around the house Saturday and rested but Sunday was a different story. I had heard about Boo at the Zoo and knew Lyla loves being outside and thought I could get some really good pictures. I figured Jason would not be happy about going but I think he had a really good time and it was fun getting out doing something as our little family.

Lyla did so well, but I knew she would because she is a total people watcher and LOVES being outside. She really wasn't too worried about many of the animals was just looking at all that was going on.

She is such a silly girl when she is with her daddy!!

Happy Girl! This picture makes my heart melt :)

This one cracks me up..but this is totally her. She will stare people down like this so when this iguana caught her eye she was all about it.

Monday was Halloween...we had a doctors appointment first so I was afraid how her pictures would turn out but she did really well with her iron check and two shots..even with an ear infection that we found out she has AGAIN (so frustrating)

Daddy says a little piggy now but a future lady razorback

I mean I know I am partial but this is most certainly the cutest little thing in the world :)

Sweet girl!!

*I think I have a problem when I take pictures..I can't pick just a few so I always upload all of them..ha! I could not be a photographer because I could sit in front of the computer trying to go back and forth and edit and delete some of the ones I took I just can't bring myself to doing it..LoL

Doctors appointment  update....
I am making an appointment with Texas Children's ENT in the next few weeks. Praying that everything works out and we don't have to get tubes.   We also have to go back and see eye doctor in the next month because her eye still seems to be draining at times as well. She got her follow up booster for her flu shot, polio shot and had to get her iron checked. She did really well with all of them. Her stats are as follows;

Height: 28in - 57%
Weight: 18 lbs 12 oz - 42%
Head Circumference: 18in - 89%

I am really doctored out with everything that has been going on...So we aren't supposed to go back again until 12 months and I hope we can keep it that way.

Happy 9 Months!!!

Happy 9 Months Lyla Faith!!
I can't believe I am already saying 9 months...how time goes by so quickly when you're having fun.

What have you been up to....

Weight about 19 lbs
Wearing size 3 diapers
Wearing size 9-12 month clothes
We go next Monday for all of your stats so I will put them in once we get it all back.

You have had a pretty rough month with eye procedure and sickness. This last weekend we had two doctors visits and an ER visit before you started feeling better. Your fever got up to 104.5 and I was one worried momma. Thankfully we got it down quickly and your chest x-ray and other tests came back normal so they say it was just a virus, but whatever it was I am so glad that you are better.

You still LOVE to sit in your bouncy..that is probably your favorite place, besides your high chair when you are eating well.
You usually eat yogurt for breakfast, fruit and veggie for lunch, fruit and veggie for dinner (we have tried fish and cheese during this time also and you seem to do well with it) Sometimes you will eat an applesauce pouch for late snack at daycare and before bed other nights too.
You nurse in the mornings when you get up and before bed and during the weekends or when I am home with you. You take a bottle still really well at daycare and you love to drink water and juice out of your sippy cup, although you would rather us hold it for you :)

Elmo is your absolute favorite right now. We have two DVD's and you love them so much.

I love to see your little eyes light up when I walk in the door to pick you up from daycare, nap or anytime you haven't seen me for at least a few seconds :)

When you were sick you really took a liking to your daddy, it is hard with his work schedule for you to spend time with him so I hated that you were sick but you did get some good bonding time in with the both of us.

You are still not even attempting to crawl, which is starting to worry us, but I just pray that you will in your own time. You have a very strong sitting position. You will roll all over the place and when we put you on the tile you scoot yourself backwards so I am hoping these steps you will put together and get it soon. They also just changed the rooms around at daycare which should have them able to put you on the floor more there as well, so I hope you learn by example from the one that does walk and crawl in there now.

When you see me go in the bathroom and start the water you get SO excited. You kick your feet, laugh and I have to be careful because you will almost jump out of my arms to get in there. I have been letting you stay in there a little longer here lately to splash in the water. You have started to turn yourself sideways in your little duck and take all of your letters and throw them over the side and try to get them all back on. You also love to take the wash cloth and dip it in the water then hold it up and hear the water drip from the rag to your tub of water.

You think you are the funniest little thing on the block. You love watching videos of yourself (vain?? ha) I think it is really that you just love watching babies because when one comes on your video or TV you stop and just start laughing. I can hold you up to the mirror and you entertain yourself for ever.

Zeus still loves to entertain you. We haven't been able to go outside because the mosquitos are so bad, but we usually go out there and let him run around so you can see how silly he can be.

You still aren't the best sleeper but I just hope that with time you will get it down. You do flips in your bed at night I don't think you ever really settle down so that is the reason you wake up so often. It usually is only one time now a days.

You love puffs or any finger food that you can feed yourself. I think that you are going to be very independent because you always want to grab the spoon and feed yourself.

You truly make my heart melt every time I look at you. You are such an amazing, happy, full of entertainment little girl.

I want to keep you small forever but I can't wait until you grow up and see what things you accomplish because I know that you will do so much.

You are loved.....

To the moon and back!!!!
