I have missed you Mac...

Well I FINALLY broke down and decided my data could not be saved and let the Apple store install a brand new hard drive to get my computer up and running again. So I am back in business using my camera again as well so that I have somewhere to put my photos onto. Trust me I have learned my lesson the hard way and will back up and save everything in 12 different ways from now on..ha!

Here are our pictures from last weekend during Easter..My little girl is growing up so fast!!!

Cheese

What goodies are in this basket??

Working on my standing....

Living the life in the pool...paci and all :)

This week was kind of a crazy week. I hate that the weeks that you only work a few days seem to DRAG on forever. We do only have 8 weeks left and I couldn't be more excited. We didn't start softball this week because they didn't get the schedule together in time but that is okay because starting this week we will be in our full uniform and I am super excited :) We ordered shirts for our softball team this year and even got little Lyla one with "Monster" on the back..ha!

I also had to take off last Wednesday to take Lyla to her new potentially new PT. We LOVED the facility and lady. She was so patient and loving with Lyla during all of her meltdowns which made me feel so happy. She said that there is nothing wrong with her EXCEPT the fact that she just DOESN"T want to stand. She gave us some pointers to work on at home with building strength in her core and helping her stand up straight. Well when the appointment ended she told us the only times she can work with Lyla are at 3:00 on Wednesday's. Do these people not know I have to work :( Well I think we have figured out a schedule in order to get her in with in the next few weeks instead of having to wait until I am out for summer break. I am hoping that it will only take about 6 sessions to get this taken care of. By the end of our hour eval she already had Lyla standing straight and taking steps to the side. Again, this lady was amazing!! So we shall see what happens in the next few weeks.

We had a community garage sale this weekend and made a few $'s but most importantly got rid of a lot of junk and everything out of our storage unit so that we don't have to keep it any longer. I did something to my back a few days ago and think moving all of those things around the garage yesterday did not help any because my back is killing me today. Lyla's nose also starting running last night and she was fussy all night long and didn't sleep well last night. So today guess we are just going to rest up and get ready for another full week starting tomorrow. Hoping this week goes by quickly and we are down another week on our countdown.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!!!

10 week mark down and Happy Easter

Well we survived the last two weeks and only have 9 more to go, thank goodness because this four day weekend totally teased me with being off for summer break.

We haven't been up to much except playing, napping and eating :)
We are in transition for a new PT so I am having to take off Wednesday of this week to get another eval done at her hopefully new and improved pedi PT that will work wonders and get our girl up and walking.

Friday we attempted pictures with the Easter bunny and that ended tragically bad so maybe next year..ha. Saturday we just went to the grocery store and hung around the house. Sunday we got up and went to church, did a mini Easter egg hunt with photo shoot of course and then the Watson's invited us over for a yummy dinner and some lounging by the pool. Little miss diva was having the time of her life floating in her raft and taking it easy.

Also we are finally getting my computer fixed as well so can get all of the pictures off of my camera from Easter weekend. Losing everything that was on it but I have come to terms and have learned the hard way now and will make sure it's all backed up in the future.

We are starting softball season this week and I an super excited because I love this time of year, just hoping our little early sleeper can handle any later games we may have.

Other than that just counting down the days until we are out for the summer. It's been a rocky year at work and I am beyond ready for the break and hopefully a fresh start next year :)

Hope you all had a fabulous Easter!!!

14 Months...how can it be!!!

Lyla Faith I can't believe you are 14 months. You have grown so fast and your little personality comes out more and more each day.

~You weigh about 24-25 lbs
~Wearing size 3 diapers
~18 months clothes.
~You are still not walking but we do start going to see a PT this week to see what they can help you with each week. I know you are going to just get up and take off any day because you are one strong willed girl that does what you want at your own time and pace. You are crawling like you are on fire though. I look at you one minute and you are in your playroom and the next clear on the other side of the house.
~You are eating all table food now and will eat almost anything. You eat better at home than you do daycare but I think it's because you get distracted there and you love taking your time to eat. You are also drinking regular organic milk really well.
~You still love going to daycare, which makes me very happy! They say you love doing lessons and story time. Ms. Nadia and the other teachers talk about how smart you are and that makes me very happy.
~You have started this crazy laugh growl thing that cracks your daddy and me up. He says you got it from me but I am not sure where it came from. You are a such a little vain diva also..ha! You love watching videos of yourself and when you see your reflection you will stop and admire yourself for several minutes :)
~You cut four teeth last week and now have a total of 12, a mouth full! I hope we are done for awhile.
~You are a great sleeper now. If I don't have to get you up at 6:15 for daycare then you will sleep until 8 or 9 most days.
~You are still a TV junkie and love hearing any kind of music, but since the weather has warmed up we have been trying to go outside more and you are loving that as well.
~You love your paci but we try to only give it to you at nap and bedtime.
~You talk up a storm so there is no telling what you are going to have to say when you really can tell us what you think.

You are such a joy to your daddy and me and we can't wait to see you grow more and more each month! We love you to the moon and back.

11 weeks....

That is how many more weeks until it's all summer long days with my little diva!
She had a hard time getting up Monday morning (as did I). She was not happy the first two mornings I dropped her off but by Wednesday she remembered how much she loves going to school. Ms. Nadia said that she has to do the classroom lesson first with Lyla because she is so excited when it's time to sit in her seat to learn (oh how I hope this continues..ha) She did great the rest of the week and oh how we were both ready to sleep in Saturday morning.
Jason went out of town earlier in the week and I haven't been sleeping well when he is gone and to add to that the dogs were pacing the floors as well. I was in desperate need of an adult night out..so thank goodness my wonderful husband said he would get Lyla down for bed Friday night so I could meet my friends down for road for some good vent sessions and laughs!!! I had to end up waking Lyla up around 9 Saturday morning for breakfast and she was already back down for her morning nap by 10:30 and slept an hour and a half!!! She was a tired girl!
Saturday we went and met one of Jason's buddy's in league city to test his jet skis for the season and let Lyla get some much needed vitamin D. It was a beautiful day outside and she loved getting to swing and take in all the people watching. We left there and got some good BBQ and then headed home where baby girl passed out at 7:30 again!!
We went and visited a church a few weeks ago and liked it okay and were planning on going back but with the time change and Lyla's late sleeping has pushed back her morning naps so I am afraid to take a non nap grouch to church nursery. She is going through this stage where she only wants me and Jason at times but that is it, so it's hard. I know we will get back in the routine soon just a matter of time :)
We have another busy week ahead of us and we start therapy this week so we will see how it goes.

Spring break is over...sigh!!!

Well we didn't have an eventful spring break but it was a good one!
We started the break off with a check up on the tubes we got put in Lyla's ears back in December and the doctor said that they couldn't look any better and that she would see us back in 6 months :)
We decided to go ahead and let a PT do a evaluation on Lyla to see what they said on Tuesday. She said she could see nothing wrong with her and she puts weight on her legs, just seems as we said has found other forms of getting around and has no want to walk. The only thing she said but was not a concern is that she still likes to curl her toes up and that could be to do with her reflexes but no worries there. She said she could work with her one day a week for a few weeks to see if we could get her to stand for longer than the 30-45 seconds she is now to build strength in her legs and she also gave us some exercises at home to do to get those little toes uncurled :)
We headed for Gigi's on Wednesday and had a great trip there. We went and visited granny and papa on Thursday (and terrible me didn't get one picture) Lyla has been cutting teeth and hadn't had a good nap that day. Thankfully papa took us for a ride in the rhino and she passed smooth out..ha! Again another reason of needing to live in the country. Friday we did a little shopping and every night Gigi made us a delicious homemade meal and Lyla got to spend a lot of time outside..which she loved. We got up Saturday morning and headed back home.
We went and had a good St. Patty's dinner with the Watson's and we all came home and crashed. We didn't make it to church this morning because Lyla took an almost two hour nap this morning. I guess she is catching up since for now all four of the teeth that were trying to come through did...yay! I am afraid we are no where close to being finished though because I felt two more knots on the bottom.
We went on a stroller ride this afternoon and got some swing time in now we have had dinner, bath and are winding down for the night and getting ready to get back in the routine tomorrow. Yes, I have already counted and only 12 more weeks until summer break!!! I can do this..ha!
Hope you all had a great spring break!!

Busy/biting baby + computer crash = much needed break!!!

Well to say the least it has been a rough start to my week! I finally got my weekend caught up and everything planned out and Lyla and I tried out a new church on Sunday. We really enjoyed it but I think the devil was not very happy because he started digging away at my week slowly but surely.
It started Sunday when we went to open our computer (which has all of Lyla's pictured saved on it, not backed up) long story short...after a trip to the apple store and only getting half of the pictures saved they are saying it has to be completely wiped out! Then Monday I was in my classroom and my fridge started making a terrible noise and after letting it rest over night I tried it again this morning and it also has decided to play out. Then I go to pick up Lyla after daycare and I get an accident report to fill out because my child has bit another child on the back today...GOOD GRIEF!! Is it spring break yet?!?!
I also have been back and forth with her teacher on the fact that of we say it's okay for her to have her paci then that is our choice. Lyla was off the bottle at 11 months, is teething and I quit nursing her last week so she is going through some serious transitions and that is her security blanket. So her being frustrated and hurting I feel contributed to the incident today, at least I pray my justification is correct. I know that this too shall pass but it's still hard dealing with it at the moment, just like the things we have already been through and many years to come :)
She is also all over the place..one minute she is in her playroom the next she is no telling where! She loves to play with doors which worries me but it is so cute to see her say "HI" when she opens it and "BYE" when she closes it..ha!
I think she knew Ms Nadia was telling on her though because she will never tell her bye and today when she was telling me and I was telling her that wasn't nice she looked at Nadia and said bye-bye..lol!! She also blew spit kisses to her daddy this morning...oh my!!
Even though she is my little mischievous diva I wouldn't trade any of it for the money in the world!!

And PS totally realized I have the blog app for my iPad so I think this will be much easier to keep up with now :)
Only three days until the start of my MUCH needed week break!!!

A month in review....Happy 13 months!!

My how the months are flying by and how much you have changed and the new things you have learned in a month...

First let's talk about the previous month we have had. When we went to your well care check up for your one year stats the doctor saw that you weren't wanting to put pressure on your feet when you were held by another person. She didn't have immediate concern because she had seen that you had been behind on other milestones such as sitting up and crawling. This was in part to the constant ear infection you had from practically August-December until when we finally got the tubes in your ear. Because the night after tubes you started sitting yourself up :)
She also referred us to a program called the ECI - early childhood intervention. I really didn't ask questions about this because I was kind of worried about the x-rays she was having us to go get. Even though she assured me that she didn't think anything was wrong but just wanted to be proactive. I talked with the ladies at daycare and they were telling me that she would stand against a toy if they put her there and that made me feel a little better. She then did it for me later that night at home, which again made this momma very happy! I was putting the x-rays off because I wanted to give her a few more weeks to see if any progression took place and try some of the strategies I had found to help with these motor skills. I decided to go ahead with the x-rays the weekend before we left for Jason's grandma's 90th birthday party so that I would stay busy and keep my mind off of the weekend wait of results the following Monday. She also did so well getting her x-rays which made it that much easier.
Well she obviously just wanted us to spend an extra $150 on tests because out of no where once we arrived at Jasons' parent's.....she started CRAWLING! (on my birthday of course..so it is something I will never forget) Yay! You don't know how excited this momma was once she started doing this. And of course they called me Monday to say that her x-rays came back perfectly normal..thank you Jesus!!!

Already getting into stuff...

She is now a girl on the move. She used to just stay in her playroom but that is no longer...she is all over the place. She is also pulling up to her knees to find stuff and pull it down (the reason we are baby proofing the house this weekend..ha) Her progression has amazed me over just the last week when she started crawling. I am so thankful that things are moving forward and it is less stressful I feel like. Because I never knew how much one could worry or care so much about something until little Lyla came along. You constantly worry that your child is not reaching their milestones or not doing what other children are doing at their age. I love getting advice from others and hearing what their children did at Lyla's age to give me reference but I also learned more than anything this week that you take everything with a grain of salt. As a mom you know what is best for your child and it is not always what others are going to think is right or what they would do, but it never will be. So listening to what others say and taking it into consideration has been a great tool from other moms but I also feel that I have to do what is best for our family. So we have set a timeline for her and have set some appointments for later in March and will continue to watch her progression and go from there. She is a full spirited girl with her own agenda and I wouldn't trade that for the world :)

Now onto my sweet little Diva being 13 months today...How can it be????

You weigh about 23 lbs
Wear size 3 diapers
Wearing size 12-18 months clothes

You are still nursing in the morning when you get up but that will be a thing of the past come spring break. I hope you the transition goes smoothly. I have a feeling it will because other things we have gradually changed you have done really well so far...I am just praying this will be the same :)

You eat three good meals a day, plus two snacks, drink out of your sippy cups well also you usually take two milk and two juice daily. You eat at your own pace though. The ladies at daycare have just learned to let you sit there and they know you will eventually eat. I think it is in part to you still being so nosey and interested in everything going on around you that you have to take constant breaks..ha!
You still LOVE daycare. You get so excited when we get there in the mornings you are already telling me bye-bye before I can sit you down..ha!

You are a girl that loves to go...when I saw are you ready you throw your hands up and starting yelling bye-bye :) (that is your favorite word by the way)

You still only have 6 teeth..four on top and two on bottom.

You love chasing zeus around the house and trying to get his bones..so we have to make sure they are put up (you also found his food and water the other day so it had to be relocated as well)

You are in heaven when we put you in your playroom. You just go from one toy to the next, dragging everything out. We have started singing the clean up song at night so maybe one day you will know how to do it on your own...ha!

First horse ride

You got to ride a horse for the very first time last weekend and it made me so sad that we don't live in the country like I did when I was growing up because you love to be outside so much, and we are limited to things like that here in the city.

You go to bed around 7:30 every night and usually sleep until around 6 in the morning. We have to leave by 6:30 so M-F I am glad for this time but on the weekends we could use some sleeping in :)
You take two okay naps during the day...still a morning nap around 9:30 which is about 30 minutes to an hour and the same thing in the afternoon around 2:30.

The rodeo in Houston has started so we celebrated "Go Texan" day on Friday

You love Elmo, singing, bath time, peek-a-bo, TV in general..ha, all of your toys but especially your jack-in-the-box..it's so funny when you know it is about to go off because you start blinking really fast,, you are very easy to entertain which is good and bad at the same time because you now find things you shouldn't to play with.

You also love going for a ride in your new tricycle we got you for your birthday...we have been trying to go on afternoon rides and you just smile the entire time we are going.

You can say momma, dada, bye-bye, hi, hey, Gigi, night-night, and several other words when you want to. I see those wheels a turning daily so I know it is only a matter of time we will have to watch what we say and watch around the house.

We can't believe a year and a month has already flown by so quickly...you are such a joy and a blessing in our lives...you add so much entertainment and we can't imagine a day without you!!!

Your daddy and I love you to the moon and back!!

(13 Month pictures to follow..like I said I have been crazy busy and didn't get the photo in today)
